Mr Prasana Supramaniam

Mr Prasanna Raj Supramanian MB ChB, MSc, MRCOG, MAcadMEd

Prasanna Raj Supramaniam is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Reprodutive Medicine and Surgery at the University of Oxford. A graduate from the University of Leicester and subspecialty training undertaken in Oxford including training with international experts in gynaecological ultrasound, minimal access surgery, deep endometriosis surgery and in vitro fertilisation.

He is a member of the current ESHRE Endometriosis Guideline Development Group. He was awarded a MSc with Merit from the University of Bristol in Reproduction and Development for his research work on the impact of a high body mass index on Assisted Reproductive Treatment outcomes.

He is a BSGE accredited endometriosis surgeon with Endometriosis Care, Oxfords and a clinical member of the Fertility Preservation service at Oxford. He is involved in delivering fertility preserving treatment including advanced laparoscopic surgery for orthotopic ovarian tissue transplantation. Other areas of expertise include advance gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound, minimally invasive surgery and all aspects of fertility medicine including in vitro fertilization, fertility preservation and recurrent miscarriage.

He has led research in fertility treatments using large datasets to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment options with Assisted Reproductive Treatments. He has presented both nationally and internationally, with publications in peer reviewed journals.

His extensive experience with open, complex deep pelvic surgery made him the perfect addition to OxPAT and we are delighted when he joined us.
